Radiology is an important diagnostic tool and is done in-house. For more difficult cases, a board certified
radiologist is available to interpret the images.
Ultrasound is a non-invasive, safe, painless procedure, which can assist us in evaluating the internal
organs. Cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram) is an important tool for evaluating and treating heart
disease. Abdominal ultrasound gives a 3-dimensional view of the abdominal organs and can aid in
obtaining tissue aspirates or biopsies necessary for diagnosis.
The key to a healthy pet is the early detection and prevention of disease. We recommend annual exams to
evaluate health and discuss any vaccinations, tests, and treatments that your pet may need. We believe in
preventive care in order to promote good health, identify problems early in their course, and provide
appropriate treatment. Our preventive care recommendations are based on the individual pet’s age, breed,
and lifestyle. They include things such as:
Examination by the doctor
Vaccinations based on risk and health status
Parasite identification and control, for your pet’s health and your family’s safety
Laboratory blood and urine tests
Radiographs for senior pets to screen for cardiac disease and arthritis
We offer therapeutic baths using the HydroSurge Bathing system. This unique system provides an
invigorating, massage-like action, which stimulates the circulation and aids in healing of skin problems.
Our staff is trained to evaluate and properly care for all of our boarding pets. When dropping off your pet
for boarding please allow time for our staff to review your pet’s health status and normal routine so that
we may provide the best care possible while you are away. Our technicians will check each pet daily and
alert the doctor to any potential problems. Boarding care includes twice daily feeding of a high quality diet
and individual walks or playtime as appropriate. We can also provide customized care for senior pets or
those requiring medications during their stay with us.
We require the following in order for your pet to board with us:
Current vaccinations as appropriate for your pet (to be determined by our doctor)
Annual fecal exam for intestinal parasites and appropriate deworming
Free of external parasites
An emergency phone number (if possible) should we need to contact you
Our surgical suite features state of the art monitoring equipment to allow us to adjust the level of
anesthesia on an individual basis. A pre-op exam by the doctor, IV fluid administration during the
procedure and recovery, patient monitoring, and attention to pain control allow us to provide the safest
Lab work is used for pre-anesthetic evaluations, for
assessing over all health and organ function in
healthy pets, and to aid in diagnosis of illness.
Many conditions, if diagnosed early, can be
completely reversed or managed for extended
periods of time. Basic lab tests can be performed
in-house for immediate results. Other tests are
sent out and results are received within 24 hours in
most cases. We utilize the largest veterinary
diagnostic laboratory in the country for our send
We are a full service veterinary hospital providing care for dogs, cats, and other small
pets. Our hospital is equipped to perform routine and major surgeries, medical care,
dental care, diagnostics, therapeutic bathing, and veterinarian supervised boarding.
If untreated, dental problems can lead to periodontal disease, which often causes pain and can
lead to more serious health problems. Good dental care is an important part of your pets’ overall
health care. We recommend cleaning the teeth as part of our preventive care program in order to
prevent more serious periodontal disease from developing. Dental care is one area where “an
ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
From the Latin term meaning the art of healing, medicine refers to maintaining or restoring health
through its study, diagnosis, and treatment. Medical care for ill pets in our care will involve diagnostic
testing, hospitalization, and appropriate treatment. Pets requiring 24-hour monitoring can be
transferred to a nearby facility equipped for that level of care.
